President Buhari’s visit to Kano was irresponsible – SAN

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Ntufam Mba Ukweni, has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kano State for a wedding.
He regretted that while Nigerians were crying over the abduction of 110 Secondary Schools’ girls in Yobe State, President Buhari and others including over twenty governors were enjoying themselves in Kano.
President Buhari was in Kano to attend the wedding of the daughter of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Fatima, and Idris, the son of Abiola Ajimobi, of Oyo state.
DAILY POST gathered that President Buhari alongside national leader of APC, Bola Tinubu and over twenty governors among other dignitaries stormed Kano on Saturday for the wedding.
But the SAN who spoke to DAILY POST on Sunday regretted the attitude of the President, saying while most Nigerians are crying as a result of one security problem or the other including the abduction of 110 secondary school girls, the President and others are junketing to Kano and enjoying themselves in a wedding.

“The conduct of Mr. President Buhari is not proper at all; it is an indication of irresponsive government, the government that is responsive don’t behalf that way” he said.
“This government doesn’t care about what happen to the people they governed. People cannot be mourning but some people are junketing around and attending all kinds of marriages.
According to him, Buhari’s government had promised that the issue of Boko Haram will be a thing of the past but here we are, instead of Boko Haram giving way, we are witnessing the kidnapped of 110 girls in Yobe, “It’s a sad development,” he stated.
Regrettably, the SAN said, “look at what is happening today, the government itself is encouraging bridges of security, it is not good enough. People are mourning but you are enjoying.
“The playing game was over, the essence of coming to power was to, amongst others steam the security challenges and other perceived problems. Nigerians voted him to power to solve numerous problems faced by them but today, reverse is the case, Nigerians have more problems than what they envisaged.
“That attitude was not good at all and it is to show Nigerians that the APC government did they not prepare for governance. It is irresponsible and irresponsible act, one attitude of government was to be responsible for the plight of the people, I condemned that act. It is an act of insensitivity,” he stated.
