Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have killed two students of the Federal University, Lafia. One of the students killed had graduated with first class from the economics department and was processing his final clearance while the other was in 400 level, English Department. The gunmen had stormed the students’ village at Mararaba-Akunza, opposite the university gate at about 10:30pm on Wedsnesday night and shot sporadically. The bullets hit the victims. One of them died on the spot while the other one died while being rushed to the hospital. The remains of the two students have been deposited at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia. Confirming the incident, the Nasarawa State police spokesman, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, says investigations into the matter has commenced.




 Few days after Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka said President Muhammadu Buhari is in a trance and called for state policing, Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose has applauded him.



In a series of tweets, Governor Fayose said, 'I am particularly happy that notable leaders in the country, especially Prof Soyinka heeded my call for all men of good conscience in the country to speak up against the wanton killing of Nigerians by herdsmen, who are acting more like terrorists'.
